Idyll on the Teltow Canal: Secure entry at the GINN Hotel Berlin-Brandenburg with the SAFE-O-TRONIC® access locking system

Mobile access solutions are increasingly in demand, which is why many hotel operators in particular are upgrading their locking systems. One such example is the GINN Hotel Berlin-Potsdam in Teltow, which has been fitted with a mobile access solution from SAG. In addition to the main entrance, night entrance and the hotel room doors, the employee entrance has also been equipped with SAFE-O-TRONIC® access locking systems. This was an easy decision, since its sister hotels (the GINN City & Lounge Ravensburg and the GINN Hotel Hamburg-Elbspeicher) are already benefiting from secure and reliable SAG locking systems.

The former farming community of Teltow is located between Berlin and Potsdam. Referred to fondly by its residents as “Rübchenstadt” (turnip town) due to a special variety of turnip that has been grown in the area for over 300 years, Teltow offers plenty for holidaymakers and those on day trips, with a host of sights and monuments.

The GINN Hotel Berlin-Potsdam is located right by the Teltow Canal. This lounge-style hotel can be found in quiet surroundings and has 198 rooms and 13 conference rooms, as well as its own fitness and wellness area – with a view of the leafy waterway. Guests can relax on the 2,500 m² outdoor terrace, which offers seating and space for sunbathing. The culinary offerings include fresh regional cuisine with Mediterranean charm.

Access solutions offer an increase in security, time savings, convenience and modernity, particularly for hotels. That’s why over 200 SAFE-O-TRONIC® access locking systems from SAG have been installed in the hotel rooms, at the main entrance and night entrance and at the employee entrance of the GINN Hotel Berlin-Potsdam.

 

Guests can now check in online without the need for an app. They can receive a PIN code that is valid for the booking period as an additional option to the RFID card.

At reception, the SAFE-O-TRONIC® access TS 300 access terminal is used as an online reader for generating the transponder cards. The SAFE-O-TRONIC® access TS 400 units have been installed to provide guests with mobile access at the main entrance and side entrances. The hotel rooms use the SAFE-O-TRONIC® access DS 400 door locking system, which includes both a PIN code function and an RFID function. With the new SAG locking systems, guests can check in online without the need for an app. They simply check in online and can receive a PIN code (temporary guest code) on their smartphone as an additional option to the RFID card. This PIN is valid for the entire booking period. One benefit of this process is that it requires no input from staff. This frees up resources at reception, giving staff more time to take care of hotel guests. With SAFE-O-TRONIC® access locking systems, doors can be opened with RFID, a temporary guest code or with keys, making them a real all-in-one solution. The functions and the modern design also make the new locking system a visual highlight with an outstanding look and feel.

The software also needed to be flexible in operation and enable the easy use of both temporary guest codes and transponders.
