The lock and striking plate systems business segment increased its sales for the second year in a row by nearly 8% compared to the previous year. The 116th general shareholders’ meeting of Schulte-Schlagbaum AG took place in the historic town hall of Wuppertal.
With a nearly 30% sales growth compared to the previous year, the locking systems for doors and furniture segment showed the potential that can be found in these products at the national and international levels. Here, the new sales strategy that was started successfully in the past year had an equally positive effect as the launch of new products did. These also included the newly developed cabinet locking system SAFE-O-TRONIC® access LSW with the convenient online control functions and the solution for the mobile check-in, which is in high demand in the hospitality industry, using the “temporary guest code” with the electronic door locking system SAFE-O-TRONIC® access DS.
Following a difficult year in 2015, the subsidiary STS Systemtechnik Schänis GmbH could stabilise its profitability again in the past financial year. Thanks to a combination of cost saving, productivity increases, longer working times and success in the market, a positive sales margin could be earned once again. STS achieved a sales growth of 5.8%, which was primarily due to new customer orders in the punching technology segment and higher volumes in fastening technology.
CEO Peter Pongratz sees the course set for the lasting success of the corporate group Schulte-Schlagbaum AG.
The guest management systems business segment could likewise earn a sales margin that has improved over the previous year. A decisive contribution to this was made by the Austrian subsidiary novacom software gmbh, for which the year 2016 has been the best year since its company founding. Both in sales as well as in earnings, the system vendor for gastronomy software has achieved an excellent result. A decisive factor contributing to this, besides the financing in Austria, was the acquisition of several large new projects. After an impressive finish, eccos pro gmbh closed the year 10% above the result of the previous year. EDV-Service Schaupp GmbH managed again to contribute a solid positive result to the success of the guest management systems segment.
The strategic investments in personnel with a focus on product development and sales in nearly all business segments get the Schulte-Schlagbaum Group in shape for the future, said the CEO Peter Pongratz. Owing to its qualified employees and a prudent management, the course is set for good on the success of the Schulte-Schlagbaum Group in the medium and long term.
